Meet the Team

Hi, I’m Kara, proprietress and senior stylist at Hey Gorgeous Hair Studio. 

I love all things hair – short, curly or straight. Short hair cuts, using a razor, are my specialty and I am All-nutrient color certified. In 1999, the decision to become a hair stylist was made after following the advice of a few close family members. Who knew that some people know you better than you know yourself?! After completing beauty school, I worked at wonderful salons who provided me many opportunities and taught me so much. (You know who you are!) For that, I am forever grateful. And at 27, I decided to take a leap of faith and open my own salon.

In October 2004, the first salon was opened on Ramona Road in Myerstown. If you have been a “forever client” you’lI remember the many decorating styles of my salons. From the rainbow colored walls in the tiny shop with one chair, which we quickly outgrew, to the first salon on West Main Avenue for ten years, I sought to make clients feel welcome and pampered. When opportunity presented itself, the move was made to our current location, also on West Main Avenue. Thanks to so many people – stylists, clients friends and family – we are enjoying success in this space that just feels right!

Family is and always will be my number one priority, so I strive to create a salon atmosphere that is pleasant and comfortable, where our client family feels “at home”. While atmosphere is important, so is your hair! To provide outstanding service to our clients, we focus on providing organic products, using new and improved techniques, and continuing developing our craft as hair stylists by attending classes and trade shows. 

My husband, Brad, and I have been married for over twenty-five years. He is a teacher and basketball coach at ELCO. We have two wonderful children, Layne and Jackson, and quite a few fur-babies. When I’m not at the salon, you might find me on the golf course, nurturing my thriving plant collection, or spending time with those I love most. I would also like to give a special shout out to my family who has helped me tremendously in every aspect. When they say it takes a village, they really meant it.

I would like to personally thank all of our valued clients- past, present and future for so many great years of service and your referrals. I feel so blessed to work with such amazing people. When you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. From my family to yours, thank you for giving us an opportunity to serve you!
